In the Valley of life

It seems so long in between blogs but I am here.  Sitting is uncomfortable.  What to post?  Life has been full as usual.  We had two of our out of town children and families here for our typical early Christmas celebration hosted by D & P which is always fun.  Their home is so beautifully decorated and they most welcoming.  After dinner and gifts for the children, this year was a first, playing bingo with the 35 of us.  The excitement was contagious and a fun time by all.  Don held up well as this was his first outing since his III by-pass three weeks earlier.  His recovery has been steady due to the visiting nurses and physical therapist and I am sure to everyones prayers along with Don being a good patient by taking two naps a day.
I am awaiting direction for a hip injection after getting MRI results yesterday of degeneration in the socket and fluid.  The pain in my knee and thigh when I get up from a sitting position has been getting worse despite the PT.  I have been off Aleve too for three days wanting to be ready for the injection if it is scheduled immediately.  Bleeding is the issue.
Along with the pain, the hardest part of all this is the limitation of living life, slowing down as well as passing up activities that will be painful such as ushering (walking & sitting for length of time), exercising, and tennis.  So what can I do? Work a puzzle for sure!!! (I stand).  I can drive short distances, church, P T appt., stores as long as not too long walking, restaurants of course,  short visits to peoples houses by standing part of the time.  And I say.....this too shall pass.  I am looking forward to a new normal soon.
I am anticipating the arrival of my 2nd self-published book, Taking Off My God Hat.  I feel relieved to have it over with.  It will be available to order by anyone via computer, ebook, amazon, kindle, etc.  Trafford Publishing.com or     my website:    wwwJaneKucera8.com
Oh, I just thought....I am still here....the Myan calendar ending and I am still here. YEAH!.
Blessings to you all for a joyfilled 2013.  jk

Blog Gratitude

This is my first post since 2008.  I am so grateful for my son Jerome's help in setting up this new blog.  Even though I could view my old one I couldn't access it.  I am not sure what I will blog about other than life's events.  That is the beginning.  And what better way than to say how grateful I am to God, family and friends as they supported my husband and I through Don's triple bi-pass yesterday.  Don was most peaceful with the whole situation.  I was after I talked through the concern that I had re: finances since Don works with our money in a way that is different than my approach.  The other concern was Don's after care.  Once I heard that we can have a visiting nurse in once each day I felt peaceful.  It was actually fun having 4 of our children and two spouses there while waiting, catching up on their lives.  A unique opportunity for with 8 siblings and spouses when they get together the conversations are more divided.  They seemed to also appreciate the time.  Don got and is getting excellent care at Adventist Hospital which also allayed my concerns.  My gratitude is from feeling the support and prayers of our family and friends.  Thank you my God. mjk
